CAD/CAM equipment is used throughout the plant to produce products to precision specifications. Research and development is a primary focus for the engineering department.

Facilities
A.Y. McDonald Mfg. Co. Corporate headquarters are located in Dubuque, Iowa, near the Mississippi River. The brass foundry and main manufacturing plant are also located in this facility.

Constructed in 1983 as the flagship development in a new industrial park, the plant was an integral part of unprecedented growth of the company and the production of new products. In 1996, the foundry was expanded to provide for increased production of brass castings.

A.Y.M. Inc. is a division of A.Y. McDonald Mfg. Co.

The first location was opened in 1989 in Albia, Iowa. This plant produces various products for the waterworks and high pressure gas industries. An addition was completed in 1994.

The second location opened in 1999 in Elizabethton, Tennessee. This facility serves as a distribution center for A.Y. McDonald plumbing products, and products primarily used in the eastern U.S.

The third location opened in 2000 in Sparks, Nevada. This facility serves as a distribution center for A.Y. McDonald plumbing products, and products primarily used in the western U.S.
